Have I really been roped into spending 5 days walking for up to 8 hours a day in the Sahara desert……..sharing a tent with a guy I hardly know…god I hope he doesn’t snore !!

The Sahara desert is known as one of the harshest places on the planet…..am I mad?  Well if u ask anyone who knows me.. they would all say … yes he’s mad.

So why do it?  Well a friend of mine said he was bored of attending raffles, treasure hunts and skittles evening…all in aid of a good cause. Not that there is anything wrong with these but he wanted to do a challenge…something that would raise thousands of pounds and not hundreds….and push him physically and mentally! Sounds like fun.. We are embarking on a massive challenge in early 2012 to raise funds for a fantastic local charity. Trekking in the Sahara Desert is going to be a huge challenge as neither of the team have ever done anything like it before – 5 days for about 6 or 7 hours a day walking acrosss the sand in that heat – but WE WILL do it!
